PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY

In order to provide their personal details, notwithstanding the stipulations of this clause of the conditions, the User must accept the specific conditions anticipated for each specific Service. Notwithstanding the above, the user vouches for the accuracy and authenticity of all data provided and promises to keep the information provided up to date, assuming with respect to WATER LOSS 2024 all liabilities arising from the providing of false or inaccurate information that fails to meet the above-mentioned requirements and for any harm caused to this company or third parties due to said circumstance.

In accordance with the stipulations of Organic Law 15/1999, on the Protection of Personal Data, WATER LOSS 2024, as the owner of www.waterloss2024.org, informs the User that it has and is responsible for a file containing personal data obtained in the Portal. The purposes of said file are to maintain, develop and control its relations with the Users when they use the Portal and its Services.

The User gives their express acceptance for the data collected while using the Portal, those provided when completing any of the forms or those arising from the relationship they may establish with WATER LOSS 2024 through the Portal to be included in the automated personal data file referred to in point 2. Similarly, they give their express authorisation for use of their email address and mobile phone number to fulfil each and every one of the data processing purposes indicated in point 1 above.

The User is free at any time to withdraw the consent they had given to receive correspondence by sending an email from the contact form, indicating their name and surname/s and stating that they no longer wish to receive any kind of correspondence.

During the data collection process, and in every part of the Portal asking them to give their personal data, the User will be informed of this Data Protection Policy, of whether or not it is mandatory to collect the data requested and of the services that will be provided based on the collection of said data. WATER LOSS 2024 will inform the Users of these aspects, either directly or by means of including a hyperlink taking them to this Data Protection Policy, at the precise moment of collecting their personal data.

WATER LOSS 2024 informs the User that some of the services offered in the Portal may have restricted access, meaning that prior to their use they must complete a registration form or the like, in which they will be asked to provide personal data which will also be processed subject to this Data Protection Policy. It is also possible that these restricted services can be accessed by using previously assigned passwords, the safeguarding of which will be the exclusive responsibility of the User, who shall proceed with due diligence in the case of their loss or theft.

In order to enhance their browsing experience and improve the services provided, WATER LOSS 2024 may also use “Cookies” to recognise the User. However, the User is free to change their browser settings to prevent the creation of cookie files or to issue a warning when they are being created. Cookies automatically collect information on some of the User’s preferences during their visit to a certain website. When using the data included in the above-mentioned file, WATER LOSS 2024 undertakes to respect their confidential nature and to use them according to the purpose of the file. It also undertakes to safeguard said data and to take all measures to prevent its unauthorised alteration, loss, processing or access, according to the stipulations of the Regulation on Security Measures for automated files containing personal data, approved by Royal Decree 994/1999 of 11 July.

With respect to data collected as indicated in this Data Protection Policy, the User can exercise the rights recognised in Law 15/1999 on the Protection of Personal Data, and particularly their rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition, where appropriate. The rights referred to in this point can be exercised by every User by means of: contact.

On the other hand, the User can exercise the rights mentioned in the above paragraph by sending a written and signed request by ordinary post to the following address: “WATER LOSS 2024”, San Sebastián City Hall, C/ Ijentea, 1 - 20003 Donostia-San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa), enclosing a photocopy of their National Identity Document as proof of their identity as a User.

The user shall edit and update their personal data using the different procedures introduced to the Portal within the different Services provided or to those they may access. It is the User’s responsibility to keep their data up to date, expressly exonerating WATER LOSS 2024 from all liability caused by the User failing to update or provide truthful data to WATER LOSS 2024.

WATER LOSS 2024 reserves the right to change this Data Protection Policy in order to bring it into line with newly introduced legal or jurisprudential aspects and to the new market uses. In any event, the User will be informed of the changes with sufficient advance notice to consider that they are aware of the changes introduced.
